ESPN: Bynum's latest bruise from bowling

POSTED: Sunday, November 18, 2012, 12:34 AM

Did 76ers center Andrew Bynum cause further damage - including a new bone bruise and cartilage damage – to his knees while bowling?

According to a report on ESPN.com, this might be the case. Citing multiple sources, ESPN.com reported that Bynum, who has yet to play for the Sixers, may have caused himself further damage while bowling.

There are several activities that are prohibited in standard NBA player contracts, but bowling is not one of them. Bynum is known to enjoy bowling, ESPN.com reported.

On Friday, Bynum reported that he experienced a setback in his recovery. Already hampered by a bruised bone in his right knee, Bynum said that he has also suffered a similar injury in his left knee. Bynum is scheduled to begin basketball related activities in early Dec.

Imagine having the money to eat not 1, but 2 "stiff" contracts. First the 18 mil they paid Brand to go away and now this 16 mil for Bynum. This ownership group has made thier money in hedge funds and leveraged buyouts and are experts in obtaining "troubled assets". Can't wait to see how it all plays out.

The guy can not look the reporters in the eye when he talks. To me that is a usual sign of deception. I have no idea what is going on here, but this has all been handled terribly. It looks like the team is finally fed up asking Bynum to address the media on his own on Friday. Even DiLeo seemed to be smirking while speaking to the media after Andrew. What can you do but laugh. Adam Aron is a carnival barker and we all bught in. From the large crowd who greeted Andrew at the Constitution Center to the thousands of fans who bought tickets believing that somehow Andrew would be on the court for opening night. Many still believed even though the player had seen no on court practice and couldn't even run that somehow he would be back for opening night with only one week of practice! The best thing out of all of this is Dileo's response that we are in it with Andrew for the long hall and want do what is best for his future. In the interim the articles are starting to run about how great Kwame Brown is and how he will help the team. The spin continues.

Apt description of Aron. What happened to all the kumbaya posters who regurgitated the Sixers spin that Bynum coud play if the games counted? There's a sucker born every minute

I hear Evan Turner was bowling the other day but just kept clanging the ball off the pins.

Bowling? Did you say bowling? If he can't bowl ,how the bleep could possibly play professional basketball?
The guy is in bad shape and I wonder how he ever passed a physical of any kind in the trade process.

no big deal, they will be 20 mil under cap next year. If he can play we win, if he cannot we get someone else.

This is flawed thinking. They'll be under the cap but will not have 3 of their top 8 players under contract. With Bynum, Nick Young and Dorell Wright coming off the books it frees up salary cap $ but your $20M figure isn't enough to bring in 3 good players. If Bynum doesn't work out we'll be in for years of middle of the road teams.

Even if it's $30M its not enough. I wasn't focusing on the amount, my point is it's going to be hard to pick up 3 quality players that will take us to the next level for $20M-$26M

Let's wait and see him on the court before anyone makes a rash and hasty decision. He is big and talented, and young. Give him a chance to show what he is capable of before you be too harsh on him. There are very few guys like this in the NBA right now.

Really? You guys are attacking him for bowling? He's supposed to know that he would get injured? As a Sixers fan, I am disappointed, but come on, get a grip people.
