Rick Adelman will return to Timberwolves
Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor confirmed Sunday that Rick Adelman will be back to coach the team next season, according to Sid Hartman of the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Adelman was expected to return, but there had still been some questions about his future after a tumultuous year last season. The 66-year-old missed 11 games during the year as his wife underwent treatment for seizures. Assistant coach Terry Porter coached the Wolves while Adelman was away.
Adelman brought his coaching staff out to his home in Portland to lay out a plan for the season last week, signaling that he would be roaming Minnesota's sideline. Along with Porter, long-time Adelman assistants Jack Sikma and T.R. Dunn will also be back.
While last season didn't go well for Adelman, he did become the eighth coach in NBA history to win 1,000 games. He holds a .586 career winning percentage and has reached the NBA Finals twice, both times with the Portland Trail Blazers.
