Prince Amukamara injury: Giants CB cleared to play vs. Broncos

New York Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara has officially been cleared to return to play after suffering a concussion last week against the Dallas Cowboysaccording to ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk.

Amukamara is listed as questionable, but Tom Coughlin said that the third-year defender would be on the field Sunday against the Denver Broncos as long as that aren't any major setbacks.

Amukamara suffered a concussion last week after he collided with teammate Ryan Mundy during the Giants' 36-31 loss to the Cowboys. He returned to practice for the first time since suffering the injury on Friday. It is the second time he has suffered a concussion, according to Amukamara -- the first one came when he ran into a basketball pole as a 10-year-old.

"This one wasn't like that. I saw a couple of flashes," he told Youngmisuk. "Everyone said it looked like I caught the Holy Ghost because my arms were out. It is definitely a scary feeling."

Safety Antrel Rolle is listed as questionable heading into the weekend as well, but he's also expected to play according to Coughlin.

The Giants defense will need to be at full force, too, as they head into a matchup against a Peyton Manning-led offense that torched the Baltimore Ravens for 49 points and nearly 450 passing yards last Thursday.
