NFL injury report 2013: Banged-up Reggie Bush makes most of Lions debut
New Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush put up 191 yards of total offense in the season-opening win over the Minnesota Vikings, a feat made more impressive considering all that was weighing him down throughout the game.
He suffered a dislocated thumb and a pulled groin in the first half, and he had a sore hip and also appeared to bang his left knee in the second half, Sean Yuille of Pride of Detroit said Sunday. Yuille remained positive despite the developments.
They need Bush to stay healthy, and he can't be suffering multiple injuries each week if he's going to make it through the year.
Bush played through the pain all the way through to a 34-24 win, but it's unclear if any of the injuries will hamper him moving forward.
Other than Bush's travails throughout Week 1, none of the other three teams in the NFC North suffered any new injuries of note. Minnesota didn't sustain any injuries during its loss to Detroit. The Bears made it through a 24-21 win over the Cincinnati Bengals relatively unscathed, as did the Packers in a 34-28 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
