Texans vs. Cowboys: Houston fans excited, Dallas fans relieved after preseason finale
The Texans dominated the game in all facets. The Cowboys were without most of their top playmakers, but the Texans still have to be happy with finishing the preseason on a high note. Devier Posey was one of the stars of the game for the Texans, flashing the potential he showed before his injury last season.
Brett Kollman of Battle Red Blog, SB Nation's Texans blog, was certainly happy with the result.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys were on the opposite end of the spectrum. They were far from panicked about the loss, but glad to put their five-game preseason behind them. Dallas avoided any serious injuries to its key backup players, and that only can be seen as a victory, despite the lopsided final result.
K.D. Drummond of Blogging the Boys, SB Nation's Cowboys blog, was happy to see the preseason go.
The most important theme of the day is that Dallas' key backups escaped the game without serious injury. There was a scare when rookie S JJ Wilcox had to be helped off the field. After stretching on the sideline though, he returned to the field one play later. Go ask the Giants and key RB Andre Brown about the importance of escaping the preseason finale healthy.
The next time we see both of these teams will be on primetime. The Cowboys open up the regular season at home against the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football, while the Texans take on the San Diego Chargers on the road on Monday Night Football.
