Brandon Marshall still nursing hip injury, shouldn't be top fantasy option

Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall is still bothered by his hip injury, according to Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times. Marshall had surgery on his hip seven months ago, but still is in doubt for the first week of the regular season.

Marshall says that he's not where he wants to be, and that the whole situation is "a little frustrating." Marshall has been able to practice off and on and it's a near-certainty that he will be back in the early-goings of the season, but he hasn't had the opportunity to go full-bore in practice, so his conditioning has suffered. In addition to that, he hasn't had many opportunities to really participate in Marc Trestman's new offensive scheme.

Still, the fact that Marshall is targeting a Week 1 return is what's positive. They wouldn't be concerned with the regular season being so close if Marshall didn't have a realistic chance to make it back in time.

Fantasy Impact: Marshall is one of the more desirable wide receiver options in fantasy football. More accurately, Marshall has been in the past. He's obviously a concern with the fact that he's aging and has this hip injury, but he's been productive and will likely continue to be productive. However, owners shouldn't count on Marshall to be the star of their team by any means.
