Lamar Odom reportedly dealing with drug problem, remains unsigned

Free-agent forward Lamar Odom has reportedly started using drugs and is currently trying to get help for his addiction, according to his agent.

Lamar Odom is in a hotel in Los Angeles and is not missing, according to his agent in a report from ESPN. The free-agent forward has reportedly been dealing with serious drug abuse problems the past two years, and is currently in the unspecified hotel with friends attempting to get help help for the substance abuse issue.

TMZ had reported that Odom has been fighting this drug problem for two years now and that he spent three weeks in a rehab facility last summer. Odom was reportedly clean during the season 2012-2013 season playing for the Los Angeles Clippers.

The 2011 NBA Sixth Man of the Year is married to Khloe Kardashian and according to TMZ reports had his whereabouts were unknown after a dispute with his wife following a failed intervention attempt last week.

Odom's agent responded to the report by telling ESPN that Odom was not missing and that his wife was aware of his location, and that he was still planning on playing in the NBA in the future.

The 6'10 veteran forward has struggled since departing the Los Angeles Lakers in 2011, struggling through two seasons with the Mavericks and Clippers. The 33-year old is currently a free agent, and was suspended in 2001 for violating the NBA's substance abuse policy.
