Ed Dickson has a 'little tear' in his hamstring
Dickson left Sunday's practice early after Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Dickson's hamstring "grabbed a little bit." Harbaugh said Baltimore removed Dickson from practice for precautionary reasons and an MRI revealed a slight tear.
While Dickson will miss some time, Harbaugh said the injury was just a "little tear" and Dickson would be held out for "a week or so." Although he will be held out of practice for a week or more and could miss preseason games, Dickson is expected to be healthy by the time the regular season starts, according to Wilson.
Having already lost starting tight end Dennis Pitta for the season due to a fractured hip, Dickson is expected to play an important role for the Ravens this season. Even though he should be healthy by the start of the season, a prolonged absence could hurt Baltimore's offense as Joe Flacco attempts to adjust to playing without Anquan Boldin and Pitta, two of his favorite targets from a season ago.
