Jeremy Maclin injury: Eagles WR hurts leg, carted off field
Per Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Maclin laid on his back for several minutes after the injury. Although he was able to stand up and put some weight on the leg, he eventually had to be brought off the field on a cart. The apparent injury was during a non-contact portion of practice, as the pads portion of training camp has not yet started. Non-contact injuries have a tendency to be a tad more sinister than injuries caused by tackles, often indicating a tear of some sort.
The 25-year-old Missouri product was entering a contract year and was expected to be Michael Vick's No. 2 target opposite DeSean Jackson. He's had over 750 yards receiving in each of his four NFL seasons, going for a team-high 857 yards and seven touchdowns last season, with Jackson only able to play 11 games. The 6'0, 198-pounder is known for his speed. He'd be a big loss for a team attempting to improve on a dismal 4-12 year.
