Sabres acquire Henrik Tallinder from Devils for Riley Boychuk
Tallinder spend the first eight years of his career in Buffalo before signing a four-year deal with the Devils in 2010. He never really lived up to expectations in New Jersey, dealing with injuries never sporting a positive plus/minus so the Devils will be happy to shed the $3.5 million Tallinder is due in 2013-14.
Meanwhile, the Sabres add to their already deep defense corps. with a familiar face who they are hoping can help mentor their younger player.
Boychuk has not played a game in the NHL after being selected in the seventh round of the 2010 Draft by the Sabres. He had eight goals and nine assists in the Central Hockey League last season.
