Super Bowl XLVIII live stream: FOX and NFL teaming up to provide free live streaming of the game

Internet users in the United States will be able to watch the game online on their computer or on their iOS devices for free.

While you won't be able to stream mobile video inside MetLife Stadium on Sunday, anyone in the U.S. not within range of a television set will still be able to watch Sunday's Super Bowl live thanks to the magic of the Internet. Kick-off for the game between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks is set for 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 2, live from East Rutherford, N.J. The stream of the Super Bowl will be available on the NFL and FOX SportsGo website, along with the FoxSportsGo mobile app for iPad.

The Super Bowl webcast will include the halftime show featuring Bruno Mars.

It's 100 percent free and 100 percent legal...assuming demand doesn't send the servers into a tail spin and leave everyone in the dark or rushing to one of those websites we're not going to mention exist.

Normally FOX's online service requires viewers to log-in using their account information connected to their cable provider. The network will be lifting those restrictions for the Super Bowl though, so everyone can enjoy the game.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to watch FOX's live stream on your iPhone or Android phone for two reasons. First, FOX doesn't have an Android app and second, their broadcast rights deal with the league prevents them from streaming the game on phones.

Why? Because the NFL and Verizon have a deal and an app for that. If you want to watch the game on your phone, you'll have to download Verizon's NFL app and fork over $5 for the privilege.

So you don't have to go mess with the Google machine, here's some easily to follow links to where you can find the free stream of the game this weekend: NFL.com or FOX SportsGo on your computer and the FOX SportsGO mobile app on iPad only.
