Here's how the Phillies' minor league teams fared on Saturday, July 4:

Lehigh Valley IronPigs – Triple A

Aaron Nola did not have one of his best starts of his young career, but it was enough to lead Lehigh to a 4-3 win over Rochester. Nola gave up nine hits resulting in three runs and earned a no decision. He struck out six and did not walk any batters. All of his runs came in the fourth inning.

Luckily for Nola, the IronPigs offense scored two runs in the eighth inning to spare him a loss. Aaron Altherr and Logan Moore both had RBI's in the top of the eighth to give Lehigh Valley the win. Altherr had the best night at the plate going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI's.

Lehigh Valley and Rochester finish their series on Sunday at 1:35 p.m.

Reading Fightin Phils – Double-A

There were plenty of fireworks in Reading on Saturday night, but most of them came from Trenton's offense. The Fightin Phils fell to the Thunder 9-2 after allowing 12 hits on the night.

Mark Leiter did not have a great outing on the mound. He went just 2.1 innings and allowed four runs on six hits. His ERA sits at 3.52 on the year.

Leadoff hitter KC Serna was the only Reading player to have more than one hit against Trenton. He went 2-for-4 with a double. The two Fightin Phils RBI's were provided by J.P. Crawford and Andrew Knapp.

Reading and Trenton play again at 1:35 on Sunday afternoon.

Clearwater Threshers – Class A-Advanced

Clearwater managed to have just enough firepower on offense to hold off Brevard County, 7-6, on Saturday night. Despite a three run bottom of the seventh from Brevard, the Clearwater bullpen held the Manatees scoreless in the last two to eke out a win.

Yacksel Rios got the start and the win for the Threshers after going six innings and giving up just three runs. Miguel Nunez came in during the seventh inning, but could not get out of it after giving up three runs. The Clearwater bullpen went 2.1 scoreless innings to seal the win.

Willians Astudillo had a great night at the dish. He went 2-for-4 with a double, a homerun and four RBI's.

Clearwater and Brevard County do battle again at 5:05 on Sunday night.

Lakewood BlueClaws – Class A

Elinery Garcia made things easy on the rest of the BlueClaws and the coaching staff, giving them a gem of a start in a 6-0 win over Hagerstown. He went seven innings of scoreless baseball, giving up just five hits in the process. He walked two and struck out two.

Drew Stankiewicz led the way on the offensive end for Lakewood. He went 2-for-4 with a homerun and two RBI's. Cord Sandberg went 3-for-4 with a run batted in as well.

Hagerstown and Lakewood will play again at 7:05 on Sunday night.

Williamsport Crosscutters – Short-Season A

Williamsport could not keep their winning streak going, falling 2-0 to Brooklyn in the series opener to drop to 13-2 on the year.

The loss was of no fault of starter Jose Taveras. He went six innings and gave up just one run, but took the loss to drop to 1-1 on the season.

The Crosscutters offense could only manage three hits against the Cyclones. Josh Tobias had two of those three hits, one of them being a double.

Brooklyn and Williamsport continue their series on Sunday at 5:00 p.m.
