Phillies Minor League Report: Andrew Knapp knocks in two runs in Reading win

Here's how the Phillies' minor league teams fared on Tuesday, June 30:

Lehigh Valley IronPigs – Triple A

The IronPigs won a 12-8 slugfest with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Tuesday at Coca-Cola Park.

Starter Anthony Vasquez did not have his best stuff, but was still able to secure his fourth win of the season. Vasquez allowed seven runs on eight hits in five innings of work.

The IronPigs collected 17 hits as a team. Designated hitter Tyler Henson went 3-for-5 with a double, home run and four RBIs.

Aaron Altherr drove in two runs and Brian Bogusevic picked up two hits.

Lehigh Valley continues their series with the RailRiders at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday.

Reading Fightin Phils – Double-A

Reading hammered the New Britain Rock Cats, 6-1, Tuesday at New Britain Stadium.

Starter Colin Kleven earned his first win for the Fightin Phils, as he allowed one run on three hits over six innings.

Right fielder Kelly Dugan went 3-for-5 with an RBI.

Catcher Andrew Knapp went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs.

The Fightin Phils continue their series with Rock Cats at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday.

Clearwater Threshers – Class A-Advanced

The Threshers dismantled the Charlotte Stone Crabs, 12-2, Tuesday at Charlotte Sports Park.

Starter David Whitehead pitched seven shutout innings and earned his fifth win of the season.

Designated hitter Andrew Pullin went 2-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs.

Left fielder Chase Harris went 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Clearwater is back in action Wednesday at 7 p.m. as they take on the Tampa Yankees.

Lakewood BlueClaws – Class A

The BlueClaws fell, 4-3, to the Delmarva Shorebirds on Tuesday at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.

Scott Harris was charged with the loss after he allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits in 1 ⅔ innings of relief.

First baseman Damek Tomscha went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and three RBIs.

Lakewood continues their series with Delmarva on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.

Williamsport Crosscutters – Short-Season A

The Crosscutters lost for the first time this season, 2-1, to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers at Eastwood Field on Tuesday.

Starter Luis Morales allowed two runs on six hits in five innings of work. Morales was charged with the loss.

Catcher Gregori Rivero went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

The Crosscutters are back in action Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. as they begin their series with the Auburn Doubledays.
