Lehigh Valley IronPigs – Triple A

Catcher Tommy Joseph was 0-for-4 at the plate, but did record his fourth RBI of the year on a ground out to first base that scored Brown in the eighth inning.

The IronPigs are in action Thursday night, as the Buffalo Bisons visit Coca-Cola Park in Allentown at 6:35 p.m. Righty Paul Clemens (0-0, 3.00 ERA) is scheduled to start for Lehigh Valley.

Reading Fightin Phils – Double-A

Reading did not have a banner night for its offense. They were no-hit for eight innings by the Akron and eventually fell 2-0 at FirstEnergy Stadium. Brock Stessi managed their only hit of the night, a double in the bottom of the ninth when he was hitting for Carlos Alonso.

Roman Quinn, like many of his teammates, was hitless on the night. He did reach on an error, but was thrown out trying to steal second base.

The Fightin Phils wasted a good start from Ben Lively, who went six innings, giving up no runs and just three hits. He struck out five and walked three, earning himself a no-decision. Ethan Stewart took the mound for the remainder of the game, allowing the two runs on three hits, taking the loss.

Reading travels to Harrisburg to start a series that begins Thursday at 6:35 p.m.

Clearwater Threshers – Class A-Advanced

Despite five errors by Tampa, Clearwater dropped the final game of its road series, 9-4 to the Yankees. The Threshers left 11 men on base in the loss, hitting just 3-for-10 with men in scoring position.

Willians Astudillo and Angelo Mora were the only two Clearwater players to have multiple hits, both tallying two. Mora had the only extra base hit of the game, a triple in the first inning that drove in a run.

The bullpen did starting pitcher Victor Arano no favors on Wednesday night. He gave up three runs on five hits in his five innings of work, but left the game trailing just 3-2. A combined three Threshers pitchers gave up six runs in three innings, surrendering seven hits in the process.

Clearwater will travel to Lakeland to start a series that will go through the weekend. First pitch on Thursday is at 6:30 p.m.
