Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs (AAA)

Domonic Brown is batting .333 in 33 at-bats since being optioned to triple A on April 28. He has seven RBIs and has stolen four bases. He could soon be promoted to the Phillies. . . . Catcher John Hester joined the team Friday. The 31-year-old has big-league experience with Arizona and the Los Angeles Angels . . . Outfielder Brian Bogusevic is hitting a team-high .347. He has two home runs and nine RBIs . . . Phillippe Aumont continues to transition to a starter. He allowed three runs last Friday on six hits in three innings. He made his third start of the season Friday night . . . Joely Rodriguez allowed four runs and nine hits Monday. He is 0-3 this season with a 7.14 ERA.

Reading Fightin Phils (AA)

Carlos Alonso is out for the season with a knee injury after being taken out by a controversial slide on April 24. Alonso, the older brother of Eagles linebacker Kiko Alonso, was covering second base on a double play when Harrisburg's Stephen Perez slid past the bag and tackled him. Manager Dusty Wathan said he did not think it was "a very clean play." Wathan talked to the Eastern League's president, but has not heard anything about a suspension for Perez. The 27-year-old Alonso, a second baseman, was batting .262 in 42 at-bats. Wathan said he was the team's leader and a player the whole team loved. . . . First baseman Art Charles hit two home runs in the past week. He was batting .333 this season with 13 RBIs.

Lakewood BlueClaws (A)

Malquin Canelo, 20, is off to a hot start in his second year at Lakewood. The shortstop is hitting .320 after his first 100 at-bats. He has 10 doubles, which ranks second in the South Atlantic League. Canelo entered Friday riding a five-game hitting streak. . . . Pitcher Josh Taylor has 24 strikeouts in 222/3 innings. The lefthander has walked just five batters, but has allowed 32 hits . . . Ricardo Pinto allowed four runs Monday for the second time in three starts. The righthander struck out six batters and walked three in five innings. He has yielded 11 runs in 31 innings this season . . . Rhys Hoskins, a first baseman, has a team-high four home runs. He was hitting .313 with 10 walks in 99 at-bats.

Clearwater Threshers (A)

Brandon Leibrandt has yet to allow more than two earned runs in a start. He struck out seven batters Thursday to earn his third win. The lefthander pitched a career-high eight innings and allowed two runs on five hits. He is holding batters to a .185 average in six starts. The Florida State product will likely be the first pitcher promoted to Reading once a double-A pitcher moves to Lehigh Valley. . . . Matt Imhof continues to be sidelined with a strained left shoulder. The lefthander is one of the organization's top pitching prospects. He was 1-1 with a 1.80 ERA in his first two starts . . . Second baseman Angelo Mora was hitting .326 in 46 at-bats . . . Catcher Willians Astudillo was hitting .324 in 105 at-bats.
