Two Phillies minor-leaguers no-hit Tim Tebow's team

Prospect Nick Fanti recorded the first 26 outs, striking out nine, including Tim Tebow twice. Trevor Bettencourt got the final out to complete the fifth no-hitter in low-A Lakewood's history.

Two pitchers at low-A Lakewood combined to throw a no-hitter Saturday night in a 1-0 win over Columbia. Nick Fanti, a 20-year-old Phillies pitching prospect, recorded the first 26 outs but was lifted after 113 pitches.

Trevor Bettencourt sealed the 27th out with a strikeout. It was the fifth no-hitter in Lakewood's history.

Fanti struck out nine Fireflies, including Mets minor-leaguer Tim Tebow twice. The lefthander walked three.

Fanti, a former 31st-round pick, is known for his exceptional control. He has now struck out 116 and walked 25 in 99 2/3 career minor-league innings. This is his first year with a full-season affiliate after two straight summers in the Gulf Coast League.

He has transitioned well to the South Atlantic League with a miniscule 1.48 ERA in five starts. Fanti is part of a robust Lakewood pitching staff that has posted a 2.63 ERA this season.
