    He's a heckuva pitcher.

Treat him like he's a guy on a the Yankees looking for a better deal. Treat him like he's a guy won a world series and was MVP.

Treat him like one of the best LH'ers in the game, because he pitched his *ss off in the playoffs last year. He's proven that he's the real deal on the field.

He can deal with the Philly press and fans and *get better*. You pay the man.

Got boo'd opening day. Came back the next day and rocked the place. Cole is probably the most important player on the p[hillies roster at this point... he's young and with any run support he's a 20 game winner... time to lock him up long term.

Another question.... you paid Howard all that money, but you're trying to figure out if Hamels is worth the money?

Is the Phil's front office *serious*??????

About Rich Hofmann
Rich Hofmann arrived at the Daily News in 1980 for a job whose status was officially designated as "full-time, temporary." A senior at Penn at the time, he was hired to fill in on the copy desk during a staff illness. The notion of him covering the Eagles or being a columnist did not exist in anyone's imagination. It was supposed to be six weeks and out, but he never left. It is only one of the reasons why so many people have concerns about him as a potential house guest. Rich has blogged the postseasons of the Flyers and Eagles. E-mail Rich at hofmanr@phillynews.com
