The Phillies announced their minor-league managerial and coaching staffs Monday and, as expected, Ryne Sandberg will return as the manager at triple-A Lehigh Valley, where he led the IronPigs to their first-ever postseason berth last season.

It became apparent last week that Sandberg would rejoin the Phillies' organization after St. Louis hired Mike Matheny to replace Tony LaRussa as its manager. Sandberg had interviewed for the job with the Cardinals.

Hitting instructor Sal Rende and pitching coach Rod Nichols will also return to Lehigh Valley.

Former Phillies second baseman Mickey Morandini, meanwhile, was elevated from his job last season as the manager of Williamsport in the rookie New York-Penn League to the job at single-A Lakewood.

Morandini will be replaced at Williamsport by former Phillies infielder Andy Tracy, who spent three seasons playing at Lehigh Valley and was always considered future coaching/managing material. Former Phillies pitcher Aaron Fultz will be the Williamsport pitching coach.

Dusty Wathan has been promoted from single-A Clearwater, where he had spent the last two seasons, to double-A Reading. He replaces Mark Parent, who is now the bench coach for the Chicago White Sox.

Chris Truby, the manager at Lakwood last season, replaces Wathan at Clearwater.
