Ryan Howard will rejoin the Phillies when the team arrives in Atlanta today.

Howard will be with the team, but he will not play. Howard, who had left knee surgery on July 10, has been playing in simulated games in Clearwater this week.

He'll work out with the Phillies in pregame batting practice this weekend before continuing his rehab in Clearwater. Howard has an offseason home in the Tampa area.

"It's something he wanted to do, and the organization was all for it," Sandberg said of Howard being with the team for the final four games.

Howard, who has missed the majority of the last two seasons with injuries, hit .266 with 11 home runs in 80 games. Since returning from Achilles' surgery in July 2012, Howard has hit .244 with 25 home runs and 99 RBI in 151 games.
