I have long contended that Las Vegas Oddsmakers are the third smartest people on the Planet Earth, behind only Nuclear Physicists and myself.

calm weather - the odds are always set to try and get an even amount of money on both sides of the betting. That way the house never loses. It rareley reflects the actual competitive advantage of one team over another, rather the line reflects a point at which they think an equal amount of money will be bet on both sides.

I see alot of similarities between the Cardnals and the Phillies and Detroit and the Rays. I don't think Boston was that good, two good pitchers, weakened injuried lineup, and missed Manny badly and the Rays leaked oil by them.

The big pay day worry is from the long odds (200-1 before the season) for the Rays winning the series.

Cole Hamels is pitching, that is why the Phills are +115. Myers might, might also get a plus. But Moyer will surely get a minus. I also live in Vegas.
