Phillies slug their way past Orioles

Left-hander Cliff Lee had a rocky start for the Phillies today against the Balitimore Orioles at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota. Though he picked up the win, Lee pitched only three innings, allowing three earned runs on five hits, striking out two and giving up a home run in a 13-6 win over the O's.

In the first inning, the Phils took a 3-0 lead off right-handed starter Jeremy Guthrie behind a home run by Raul Ibanez and a double by Ross Gload. The Phils added four more runs in the fifth thanks yo back-to-back home runs by Gload and Ryan Howard.

Guthrie took the loss.

The Phillies are home Saturday, hosting the Tampa Bay Rays at Bright House Field starting at 1:05 p.m..
