Report: Phillies are scouting Javy Vazquez

The Phillies may think they're done making moves, but that doesn't mean they aren't browsing.

ESPN's Jayson Stark reported via Twitter that the Phillies have been scouting 36-year-old right-handed reliever Javier Vazquez in Puerto Rico.

Vazquez has been in the league since 1998, playing for the Expos, Yankees, Diamondbacks, White Sox, Braves, and Marlins, coming in fourth in Cy Young voting for the 2009 season. His last appearance was in 2011, when he made 32 appearances for the Marlins. Through his 14-year career, he has amassed a 4.22 ERA.

Ruben Amaro claims the team is "flying at about 5,000 feet, just to see what's going on," and only plans to move once Vazquez himself makes his intentions clear.
