Hector Luna hit a two-run home run and Jim Thome went 0-for-1 in his exhibition debut as the Phillies defeated Florida State 6-1 Wednesday afternoon at Bright House Field.

The Phillies were held hitless until Tuffy Gosewisch doubled with one out in the third inning. FSU got its first hit in the sixth.

Eight Phillies pitchers allowed six combined hits and struck out eight. Austin Hyatt, 12-6 last season at Double-A Reading, started and struck out three in two perfect innings. J.C. Ramirez was credited with the victory despite allowing the tying run in the sixth inning.

The Phillies took a 1-0 lead in the sixth when Tyson Gillies singled, stole second and scored on Scott Podsednik's groundout.

They broke it open an inning later.

Erik Kratz's RBI single scored Pete Orr, who started the inning with a double, and Luna's homer into the leftfield seats capped a five-run outburst.

Thome replaced Juan Pierre as designated hitter in the sixth inning. He struck out and walked before leaving for a pinch-runner.

The Phillies' starting lineup featured regulars Jimmy Rollins, Shane Victorino and Hunter Pence.

Domonic Brown, vying for the starting spot in left field, was hit by a pitch and popped out to shortstop.

John Mayberry started in Ryan Howard's place at first base and went 0-for-3.
