Here's how the Phillies' minor-league teams fared on Tuesday, Aug. 25:

Lehigh Valley IronPigs (59-71) – Triple A

Tommy Joseph helped the IronPigs compile 16 hits, as they pounded the Buffalo Bisons for their fourth win in a row, 9-3, at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown.

Joseph contributed to a six-run IronPigs outburst over the first two innings that created a 6-0 lead. Joseph finished 4-for-5 with two RBI. Brian Bogusevic went 2-for-3 and hit his 12th home run of the season, in the fourth.

Chase d'Arnaud (2-for-5), Kelly Dugan (2-for-4), Tyler Henson (2-for-4) and Logan Moore (2-for-4) joined Joseph and Bogusevic in the multi-hit department. The IronPigs went 6-for-18 with runners in scoring position.

Starting pitcher Sean O'Sullivan (3-2, 3.86 ERA) picked up the decision after allowing three runs on eight hits in seven innings. He also struck out four. Seth Rosin pitched two scoreless innings in relief.

The IronPigs will go for a three-game sweep of the Bisons at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday. Anthony Vasquez (7-6, 4.22 ERA) is scheduled to start.

Reading Fightin Phils (73-55) – Double-A

Despite seven strong innings from Zach Eflin, the Fightin Phils took their fourth loss in five games, 3-2, to the Altoona Curve at Peoples Natural Gas Field in Altoona.

Eflin didn't allow any earned runs in seven innings. He struck out five and allowed six hits.

However, Eflin didn't pick up a decision because Ryan O'Sullivan (1-2, 2.40 ERA) gave up two runs on three hits in one innings. It was O'Sullivan's second blown save.

Destin Hood led the Fightin Phils at the plate by going 2-for-4 with an RBI. The RBI was his 49th of the season.

The Fightin Phils will look to bounce back against the Curve at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Jake Thompson (3-1, 2.08 ERA) is slated to start.

Clearwater Threshers (73-56) – Class A Advanced

John Richy had a stellar debut for the Threshers, but it was not enough for them to complete a three-game sweep of the Daytona Tortugas. Clearwater lost at home, 2-0, at Bright House Field.

Richy tossed seven scoreless innings and allowed only four hits. He also struck out three.

Yacksel Rios (6-4, 2.85 ERA) gave up both Daytona runs, in the eighth and ninth innings.

Richy did not receive any offensive support, as the Threshers were held to three hits and went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position.

The Threshers are off Wednesday, but will be back on the field at 6:35 p.m. Thursday when they open a three-game series against the Brevard County Manatees at Space Coast Stadium in Melbourne, Fla. Clearwater's starter was not announced as of this writing.

Lakewood BlueClaws (64-61) – Class A

The BlueClaws snapped a three-game losing streak with a 6-3 victory over the Hagerstown Suns at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, N.J.

The BlueClaws did all their damage during the second and third innings, thanks to RBI hits from Cord Sandberg, Jiandido Tromp, Deivi Grullon and Drew Stankiewicz. Sandberg had two RBI to increase his total to 51.

Austin Davis (4-5, 3.48 ERA) allowed three runs on four hits in five innings. Davis also struck out six. Matt Hockenberry shut down the Suns to secure his 15th save.

After taking the series opener, the BlueClaws will face the Suns again at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday. Elvis Garcia (8-9, 3.05 ERA) will start for Lakewood.

Williamsport Crosscutters (41-22) – Class A-Short Season

The Crosscutters continued their scorching pace coming out of the all-star break with a 2-1 victory over the State College Spikes at Susquehanna Bank Park in Williamsport. The Crosscutters have won six in a row since the break.

All the game's runs came in the first inning, with the highlight being Jose Pujols' two-run homer. The home run was his second of the season. He has 27 RBI.

Tyler Gilbert (4-3, 2.79 ERA) gave up only one run on four hits in six innings. Robert Tasin picked up yet another save, his 15th.

The Crosscutters will go for a three-game sweep of the rival Spikes at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday. Jose Taveras (6-2, 2.89 ERA) is scheduled to start for Williamsport.
