Here's how the Phillies' minor league teams fared on Friday, Aug. 21:

Lehigh Valley IronPigs – Triple A

Jesse Biddle kept his team in the ballgame, but the Lehigh bullpen could not hold off a big Pawtucket sixth inning in a 7-3 loss.

Biddle left after giving up three earned runs in five innings of work, but could not record an out in the sixth inning in which the Red Sox scored five runs to take a big lead. Jason Berken gave up four runs, three of them earned, in one inning of work to seal the IronPigs fate.

Kelly Dugan hit a home run for Lehigh Valley. He was 1-for-3 on the night. No IronPig had more than one hit.

Pawtucket and Lehigh play again on Saturday at 6:05 p.m.

Reading Fightin Phils – Double-A

Starting pitcher Jake Thompson did not get any run support in his first loss as a member of the Fightin Phils, a 6-0 loss to New Britian.

Thompson gave up just two runs on four hits in his six innings of work, but his start was doomed from the get go as Reading could only manage three hits on the night.

J.P Crawford, Brock Stassi and Harold Martinez were the only Fightin Phils to get a hit off the Rock Cats pitchers.

The two teams play again on Saturday at 6:35 p.m.

Clearwater Threshers – Class A-Advanced

The Threshers were downed by the Brevard County Manatees, 6-5, at Bright House Field.

Starter David Whitehead was roughed up, allowing six runs on seven hits over five innings. He struck out six and walked four in his 11th loss.

Carlos Tocci, Dylan Cozens, Andrew Pullin and Malquin Canelo each knocked in a run.

Clearwater is back in action Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

Lakewood BlueClaws – Class A

The BlueClaws' one run lead evaporated in the bottom of the eighth inning, as the West Virginia Power went on to secure a 7-4 victory at Appalachian Power Park.

Starter Will Morris delivered five scoreless innings in the no decision. Calvin Rayburn blew his second save by allowing four runs on two hits in the bottom of the eighth. Rayburn's rough outing also resulted in his second loss.

Center fielder Jiandido Tromp went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer.

Lakewood is back in action Saturday at 7:05 p.m.

Williamsport Crosscutters – Short-Season A

The Crosscutters took down the Auburn Doubledays, 3-1, at Susquehanna Bank Park.

Starter Franklyn Kilome pitched six innings and allowed only one run on eight hits. Kilome struck out three and walked one, as he earned his third victory. Robert Tasin picked up his 12th save.

Second baseman Josh Tobias went 1-for-4 with a double and drove in two runs.

Williamsport is back in action Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
