Phillies Minor League Report: Dylan Cozens posts four hits during Clearwater victory

Here's how the Phillies' minor league teams fared on Sunday, June 14:

Lehigh Valley IronPigs (23-42) – Triple A

Phillippe Aumont helped the IronPigs shut down the Norfolk Tides by a score of 2-0 Sunday to earn a split at Harbor Park in Norfolk, Va.

The IronPigs blanked the Tides in both of their wins during the four-game series, and did so Sunday thanks to good outing from Aumont.

Aumont walked five batters, but struck out nine and allowed only four hits during his 5.2 innings. He earned the victory, which was his third of the season.

Jake Diekman polished off the victory during the ninth with a scoreless inning to secure his second save with the IronPigs.

Offensively, Lehigh Valley only registered six hits, but it was enough to plate two runs thanks to RBI hits from Brian Bogusevic and Russ Canzler.

Bogusevic increased his RBI total to 29 while Cranzler is now up to 21.

The IronPigs will return home to Allentown Monday to open up a four-game set with the Buffalo Bisons, starting at 7:05 p.m. at Coca-Cola Park.

Anthony Vasquez (3-1, 2.73 ERA) is scheduled to start for Lehigh Valley.

Reading Fightin Phils (33-29) – Double-A

Ben Lively held the Akron RubberDucks off the scoreboard through five innings, but finally caved in during the sixth, which led to RubberDucks defeating the Fightin Phils, 5-1, to complete a three-game sweep.

Lively let up four runs between the sixth and seventh innings for the first runs of the game. The three runs during the seventh ended his night after 6.2 innings where he allowed nine hits. He took the loss, which dropped his record to 4-5.

The Fightin Phils were able to record nine hits, but Brock Stassi's RBI hit during the eighth turned out to be the team's lone run. Stassi has now driven in 49 runs on the season.

J.P. Crawford, Aaron Altherr and Rene Garcia didn't drive in any runs, but they all recorded two hits during the contest.

The Fightin Phils will receive a day of rest Monday, but will be back on the field in Trenton, N.J. at 7 p.m. Tuesday when they face the Trenton Thunder at Arm & Hammer Park.

Jesse Biddle (5-1, 4.11 ERA) is slated to start for Reading.

Clearwater Threshers (32-31) – Class A-Advanced

Dylan Cozens posted four of the Threshers' 12 hits during their 9-5 victory over the Brevard County Manatees Sunday at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Fla.

Cozens went 4-for-4 Sunday with three doubles and two runs. His four hits was match by Willians Astudillo's four RBI despite only recording one hit during the contest.

All but one member of the Threshers' lineup (Angelo Mora) posted at least one hit against the Brevard Count pitching staff.

Clearwater starter Mark Leiter didn't have a tremendous outing, allowing three runs on seven hits in five innings of work, and it led to him not getting the decision.

The decision went Miguel Nunez, who allowed two runs on four hits during one inning on the mound. Edubray Ramos earned a three-inning save, where he struck out six batters. The save was his fifth of the season.

After taking three out of four from the Manatees, the Threshers open a four-game series with the St. Lucie Mets at 7 p.m. Monday at Bright House Field.

Colin Kleven (4-3, 3.00 ERA) will take the mound for Clearwater.

Lakewood BlueClaws (31-28) – Class A

The BlueClaws were scheduled to take on the Hagerstown Suns on Sunday, but the game was postponed due to rain at Municipal Stadium in Hagerstown, Md.

The game has been pushed back to Monday as part of a doubleheader that will begin at 4:05 p.m. Ricardo Pinto (5-2, 3.25 ERA) is scheduled to start Game 1 for Lakewood. Josh Taylor (3-4, 4.73 ERA) is set to start Game 2.
