Phillies Minor League Report: Domonic Brown goes 3-for-4 in IronPigs' win

Here's how the Phillies' minor league teams fared on Wednesday, May 6:

Lehigh Valley IronPigs – Triple A

The IronPigs knocked off the Louisville Bats, 5-3, Wednesday to finish their three-game series at Louisville Slugger Field in Louisville, Ky. with a win.

David Buchanan gave up three runs (two earned) on seven hits in six innings of work. Buchanan struck out five batters and earned his first win of the season for Lehigh Valley.

Colton Murray pitched a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his second save of the season.

Third baseman Maikel Franco went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Franco is batting .327 for the IronPigs.

Right fielder Domonic Brown was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Left fielder Brian Bogusevic went 3-for-5 and scored three runs.

The IronPigs are back in action Friday at 7:05 p.m., as the team begins its series with the Gwinnett Braves at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown. Right-hander Phillippe Aumont (1-1, 2.25 ERA) is scheduled to start for Lehigh Valley.

Reading Fightin Phils – Double-A

The Fightin Phils fell, 5-2, to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading on Wednesday.

Zach Eflin took his second loss of the season, surrendering five runs on eight hits in just five inning of work.

Center fielder Roman Quinn went 1-for-5 with his fifth triple of the year.

Right fielder Aaron Altherr was 1-for-3 and had both Reading RBI.

Lefty Tom Windle (0-1, 4.50 ERA) is scheduled to start Friday for the Fightin Phils, when they begin their road series with the Erie SeaWolves at 6:35 p.m.

Clearwater Threshers – Class A-Advanced

The Threshers wrapped up their series with the Brevard County Manatees by winning 7-3 at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Fla.

David Whitehead earned his second win of the season, striking out seven batters and allowing three runs on seven hits. Whitehead's start lasted six innings Wednesday.

J.P. Crawford, the Phillies No. 1 prospect, made his season debut for the Threshers at designated hitter. Crawford went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI.

Catcher Andrew Knapp went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Knapp is batting .292 on the season.

Left fielder Andrew Pullin was 3-for-4 with two RBI and is hitting .299 this season.

The Threshers will travel to Daytona to begin their series with the Tortugas on Thursday at 7:05 p.m. Left-hander Brandon Leibrandt (2-1, 1.74 ERA) is slated to start for Clearwater.

Lakewood BlueClaws – Class A

The BlueClaws were unable to rally Wednesday, falling 10-8, to the Augusta GreenJackets at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood Township, N.J.

Josh Taylor was demolished, lasting just ⅔ of an inning and giving up six runs (four earned) on six hits. Taylor took his second loss of the season.

Left fielder Cord Sandberg went 1-for-4 and had two RBI.

Center fielder Carlos Tocci was 1-for-5 and had an RBI. Tocci is hitting .378 for Lakewood.

Catcher Deivi Grullon went 1-for-3 with an RBI double.

The BlueClaws are back in action Thursday at 6:35 p.m. as they continue their series with the GreenJackets. Righty Tyler Viza (3-0, 3.86 ERA) is scheduled to start for Lakewood.
