Here's a rundown on how the Phillies' minor league teams fared on Wednesday, May 28:

Lehigh Valley IronPigs – Triple A

The IronPigs went up against a knuckleballer Wednesday and the results weren't very pretty.

The IronPigs were held to just four hits during a 12-4 loss to the Norfolk Tides at Harbor Park in Norfolk, Va.

Norfolk pitcher Eddie Gamboa used his knuckleball to keep the IronPigs at bay and kept them off the scoreboard for seven of his eight innings on the mound. Gamboa allowed only two hits, recorded six strikeouts and was officially hit with two of Lehigh Valley's runs.

The IronPigs recorded a mere four hits overall and was essentially out of the game from the very beginning.

The lopsided score was partially due to the rough start of pitcher Brad Lincoln, who lasted only four outs. During his brief time on the mound, he allowed six runs on seven hits and was dealt his third loss of the season.

Hector Neris and Jeremy Horst followed Lincoln to the mound, but did not fare much better, giving up three runs apiece.

Catcher Cameron Rupp (1-for-3) and center fielder Tyson Gillies (1-for-4) homered during the loss. For Rupp, it was his sixth of the season and for Gillies it was his second.

Third baseman Maikel Franco and left fielder Leandro Castro accounted for the other two Lehigh Valley hits. The both went 1-for-4.

The IronPigs finish up their series with the Tides at 12:05 p.m. Thursday. Chris Bootcheck (1-0, 0.00 ERA) is scheduled to start on the mound for Lehigh Valley.

Reading Fightin Phils – Double A

A three-run homer from Cameron Perkins in the bottom of the 12th propelled the Fightin Phils to 9-6 victory over the Trenton Thunder Wednesday at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading.

The Fightin Phils have now won 13 out of their last 17 games and amazingly hold a three-game winning streak in 12-inning contests.

The Fightin Phils held a 6-5 lead heading into the top of the ninth, but pitcher Nefi Ogando surrendered the game-tying run to send the game into extras.

Both teams were unable to cross the plate until Perkins hit his third home run of the season to give the Fightin Phils the win. Perkins finished the day 3-for-7 from the plate with four RBI. His batting average is now .340.

Everett Williams also recorded three hits, as he finished 3-for-5 and drove in a run. Brock Stassi and Edgar Duran weren't too far behind, as they each went 2-for-6 from the plate. The Fightin Phils recorded 15 hits overall.

Starting pitcher Hoby Milner did not enjoy such a productive outing, allowing four runs on five hits in 4 1/3 innings. He also walked six batters.

Tyler Knigge was handed his third win of the season after tossing three scoreless innings at the end of the game.

The Fightin Phils won't have long to celebrate another dramatic victory, as they have to go up against the Thunder again at 11:35 a.m. Thursday. Perci Garner (4-2, 3.16 ERA) will get the start for Reading.

Clearwater Threshers – Class A-Advanced

A single from Logan Moore allowed the Threshers to win in walk-off fashion Thursday by a score of 5-4 over the Fort Myers Miracle at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Fla.

Before the Threshers got into extra innings, they trailed 4-1 heading into the bottom of the ninth. That all changed with one swing of the bat from first baseman Art Charles, who hit a three-run homer to tie the ballgame. The home run was Charles' (1-for-4) third of the season.

In the bottom of the 11th, the Threshers were fortunate enough to take two consecutive walks. This set up Moore to drive in the winning run in his only at-bat of the game.

Third baseman KC Serna led the Threshers in hits Thursday, going 2-for-5 from the plate.

Clearwater starting pitcher Colin Klevin put together a solid outing, allowing three runs on four hits during his six innings of work. Jordan Guth picked up the decision, however, after tossing the final inning.

The Threshers will lock up with the Miracle again at 7 p.m. Thursday. Jeb Stefan (2-4, 5.45 ERA) will get the ball for the Threshers.

Lakewood BlueClaws – Class A

A stellar pitching performance from Jon Prosinski and a two-run single from second baseman Robinson Torres lifted the BlueClaws to a 2-1 win over the Greensboro Grasshoppers at NewBridge Bank Park in Greensboro, N.C.

Prosinski tossed six innings Thursday where he allowed an unearned run on seven hits. His strong outing allowed him to pick up his first victory of the season.

After 2 1/3 from Julio Reyes, Cody Forsythe secured the final two outs for Lakewood to record his eighth save of the season.

The BlueClaws were out-hit 9-6, but it didn't stop right fielder Dylan Cozens from going 2-for-4. Both of his hits went for doubles. Robinson's RBI during the fifth inning were his second and third of the season.

After halting a three-game losing streak, the BlueClaws return home Friday to take on the Delmarva Shorebirds at 6:35 p.m. at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood Township, N.J. Drew Anderson (3-3, 3.34 ERA) will take the bump for Lakewood.
