Here's how the Phillies' minor league teams fared on Thursday, July 2:

Lehigh Valley IronPigs – Triple A

David Buchanan had a great start for the IronPigs, leading them to a 7-1 victory over Rochester. Buchanan went 6.1 innings and gave up just one run. He did give up seven hits, but scattered them effectively, improving to 2-0. Rochester was just 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position.

Chase d'Arnaud had the best game at the dish for Lehigh Valley. He was 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI's. His double was one of just three extra base hits for the home team on the night.

Rochester and Lehigh do battle again on Friday night at 7:05 p.m.

Reading Fightin Phils – Double-A

Thursday night was not a banner performance from the Fightin Phils. Reading fell to New Britain 10-0 on the road.

Jesse Biddle did not have a great night on the mound. He gave up six earned runs on nine hits in five innings of work. He struck out seven but gave up two home runs in the process. He drops to 7-2 on the year.

As bad as the pitching was for the Fightin Phils, the hitting was even worse. They managed just three hits and moved just one runner into scoring position. Reading struck out eight times as a team on the evening.

Reading and New Britain continue their series at 7:05 p.m. Friday night.

Clearwater Threshers – Class A-Advanced

Clearwater could not get anything going offensively, falling to Tampa 4-1 at Bright House Field. Rhys Hoskins was the only Thresher to have any success at the plate, accounting for two of the team's three hits on the night and their only RBI.

Ricardo Pinto took the loss for Clearwater, his first of the season. He went six innings and gave up three runs on five hits.

Tampa and Clearwater do battle again Friday night at 6:35 p.m.

Lakewood BlueClaws – Class A

Lakewood and Delmarva battled back and forth in a rollercoaster game, but Delmarva came away the victor, taking the game 7-5.

Ranfi Casimiro got the start, and was effective for the most part. He went five innings and gave up just two runs, one of them being earned. The bullpen was not so effective. They gave up five runs in four innings to blow the game.

The BlueClaws had nine hits on the night, but could not seem to move them into scoring position. They were 2-for-6 as a team with runners in scoring position and left five stranded.

Lakewood takes on Delmarva again on Friday night at 6:35 p.m.

Williamsport Crosscutters – Short-Season A

The Crosscutters continued their impressive start to the season, taking down Auburn 6-1 to improve to 12-1 on the year.

Alejandro Arteaga moved to 3-0 on the season with an outing that lasted five innings. He gave up one run on two hits. His ERA stands at 1.59.

Jan Hernandez had a great night at the plate. He went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI's.

Williamsport and Auburn are back at it at 7:05 p.m. on Friday night.
