Lidge at Lehigh Valley Thursday

If you want to see Brad Lidge's first area performance of the season circle Thursday on your Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs pocket schedule.

The Phillies' closer will pitch for the team's triple-A affiliate that day against Boston's triple-A Pawtucket squad at Coca Cola Park. It will be the first time Lidge has pitched out of the state of Florida since he started his rehab assignment when the Phillies headed north for the start of the season. Lidge, slowed by offseason knee and elbow surgeries, was 0-1 with a 9.64 ERA in five appearances at single-A Clearwater. In 4 2/3 innings, he allowed five runs on five hits and two walks while registering four strikeouts.

Lidge pitched two scorless innings in his last two outings, including a perfect inning Monday.

In other rehab news, Joe Blanton ( strained left oblique) is scheduled to make his first rehab start tonight at single-A Lakewood and lefthander J.C. Romero was scheduled to pitch tonight for the second straight game in relief at Lehigh Valley.
