Jimmy Rollins would reportedly approve Dodgers trade

Jimmy Rollins has not traditionally been open to trades, having achieved 10-5 rights as a veteran and already slapped down a potential trade to the Mets this offseason. Initially, the mainstay Phillies shortstop has said that he wanted to stay in Philadelphia to reach team records. Now, it seems he could be ready to move on, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports:

"Longtime Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins is said to be willing to consent to be traded to the Dodgers if the teams could work things out. It isn't known how likely a Rollins deal is with the Dodgers, but a person familiar with the situation said there's at least some chance it could happen."

Rollins, still a serviceable defensive shortstop at 36, is another veteran the Phillies would be willing to move as they rebuild. As he controls his own fate, this could be difficult, but if he is indeed open to L.A., the Phillies could see a positive return for their veteran infielder, who hit .243 with a .717 OPS, 17 HR, and 55 RBI in 2014.

The Dodgers, having lost Hanley Ramirez to the Red Sox, are a team in need at the shortstop position. They have several top prospects whom the Phillies may seek in a trade.
