Jim Thome's Triple-Triple

Jim Thome's Triple-Triple

When Jim Thome clubbed his fourth home run of the season Sunday (right), he became just the fourth player to reach triple digits in four-baggers for three different teams. (Those four players and their career home runs are broken down by team below.)

Some other Thome homer things to consider:

♦ Thome is the only player in history to hit his 300th (Indians), 400th (Phillies), 500th (White Sox) and 600th (Twins) career home runs for different clubs.

♦ He was the eighth player to reach the 600-homer mark, but he did it in fewer at-bats (8,167) than anybody not named Babe Ruth (6,921).

♦ He needs just two more home runs to pass Sammy Sosa for seventh place on the all-time list. That would be cool since Mike Schmidt finished his Phillies career seventh on the all-time list.
