- Well, unless he gets in situations where the pitcher is dumb enough to throw fastballs down the heart of the plate I cant see how it will make a difference. Is everyone going to suddenly stop throwing him off speed stuff off the plate that he flails away at? If he hasnt been to one he should see an optometrist tomorrow because he has no idea what pitches are coming his way. Nice to see while he was out he didnt bother to lose any weight.— lazyboy

- This guy is a black Jim Thome, but this town skewers him - while adoring Thome. People, he's a power hitter - he's gonna strike out and he's gonna drive in runs. Get used to it. He leads all of MLB in go ahead RBIs over last 6 yrs. he's a good guy who stays out of trouble and plays to win. He was HUGE in 08 and helped bring us a friggin WS.— Logical1

- Not stuck in past, just don't understand why he's hated so much. If Thome did what he did, we would have a statue for him already. Their hr/ko stats are identical. Howard was our leading (only) hitter in 2010 playoffs. People forget that last year he won game 1 with 3 run bomb, then gift wrapped game 2 for Lee before he blew it. And always drives in big runs during season, carries team when he's hot. So he's still a big piece of this team. I agree with CEO - go root for someone else , and stop trying to run our best players out of town! — Logical1
- I would not say hated, but most like me are disappointed. He is a strikeout machine, runs like a walrus and can not adjust his swing to save his life. With that crazy shift they sometimes play on him, most players could slap bunt a double to the left side of the infield but Howard has to pull everything so when they put 7 fielders on the right side and leave 2 on the other, he still is hitting poorly. 125 million man? Not even close. He is turning into another Pat the bat... — chris_r

- Howard's walk off yada da yada. With any kind of luck, he'd keep walking.He can't run, he hasn't hit, and he's not fielding too well either. He's an expensive anchor around the Phillie's neck. To bring up what he's done in previous years as an excuse to not replacing him is ridiculous .
