Freddy Galvis to miss 6-8 weeks with broken collarbone

Freddy Galvis will miss 6-8 weeks with a broken collarbone.

Freddy Galvis will miss 6-8 weeks with a broken collarbone. Galvis suffered the injury on Sunday at Lehigh Valley after sliding into a wall attempting to catch a foul ball.

The 24-year-old infielder had posted a batting average of .048 and an OPS of .156 in 46 plate appearances from the Phillies bench. He was demoted to the IronPigs after being replaced by Reid Brignac.

The injury comes after Galvis suffered a MRSA infection during spring training, as well as a back fracture and PED suspension in the last two years.
