Dubee: Halladay will pitch Tuesday

DENVER -- Roy Halladay cleared the final hurdle Saturday.

After throwing 28 pitches in the bullpen at Coors Field, the two-time Cy Young Award winner said he "felt fine" and pitching coach Rich Dubee indicated he'd be ready to pitch Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

"As of right now, he will pitch Tuesday unless I'm told he can't," Dubee said.

The pitching coach also said Halladay will be on a pitch count, but declined to reveal what the count will be. Halladay has not pitched in a big-league game since May 27 in St. Louis when he revealed he had soreness in the back of his right shoulder.

The Phillies have gone a major-league worst 12-27 during Halladay's time on the disabled list and lost 10 games to the Washington Nationals in the standings to fall 15 games out of first place.

Halladay made a minor-league rehab appearance Monday for single-A Clearwater and pitched three innings.

"All right, fine," is how Dubee described that outing. "There is rustiness and inconsistency there, but arm wise and working wise, he's feeling a lot better than he has in a long time."
