UPDATED: Did Sarah Madson diss Phillies fans?

Sarah Madson, wife of Phillies reliever Ryan Madson, has been quoted bashing Phillies fans during a recent interview with a blogger at a charity event.
Laura Goldman, who has written recently for Metro, quoted Sarah Madson on her blog Naked Philadelphian, saying "I hate the fans. It is bad enough that they bother us during the season, but they will not leave us alone in December when we go out to eat. We stayed here during the off season last year, but we will be going to California this year. There must be something particularly bad about Phillies fans because all the players leave in the off season.”
According to Goldman's blog, Sarah Madson, five months pregnant with the couple's fourth child, also complained about female fans of her husband. at the March 31 event for MANNA at the Loews Hotel. “Can you believe that they have the gall to give my husband their number in front of me?”
After Deadspin posted about the statements, the Crossing Broad blog uncovered some information about Goldman, such as the former stockbroker being on probation for stalking a financier over a 1996 situation with Boston businessman Thomas Lee. She was extradited from Israel in 2009 as a fugitive from justice.

"Ryan and Sarah enjoy playing in Philadelphia and have a great fondness for the city and the fans. They both look forward to a successful 2011 season," a spokesman for the Madsons told us Wednesday morning.
Goldman tells us she stands by her quotes of Madson, which were in a one-on-one interview she conducted during the MANNA fundraiser.

UPDATE: The Phillies have released a statement on the Madson matter:
"Sarah did not consent to an interview, but rather was approached by Ms. Goldman, who did not identify herself as a reporter. She began to ask many personal questions about the life of a wife of a professional baseball player. The comments reported by Ms. Goldman were taken completely out of context, and as a result, Sarah is extremely upset and feels violated by the situation. Sarah says, "For every one fan that may upset us, there are 99 Phillies fans that we love. We have lived here for years, have many friends, neighbors and acquaintances -- who also happen to be Phillies fans -- for whom we have the utmost respect. The Madsons would like to dispel this misleading information which indicates that they have anything but admiration for the fans in Philadelphia."
And Goldman has now responded to the Phillies statement:
"The Phillies on behalf of Ryan and Sarah Madson have issued a response to my blog post. They did not refute that Sarah Madson said the comments that I reported. They falsely allege that I did not identify myself as a reporter. That is just not true. I identified myself as a reporter several times and even Ryan and Sarah Madson for a joint interview after my conversation with Sarah. As far as the false allegation that I took things out of context, Sarah was pretty clear on her hate for the fans. It was not possible to misconstrue.
I hope that this clears up any questions about my credibility," she posted.
God i hate the fact that these fans love my husband so much they are willing to support his team so i can live with MILLIONS of dollars for doing nothing. My husband plays a silly SPORT for half a year while people work 40+ hours a week for 40+ years and dont make 1/3 of what my husband will make in a year. I DID NOT ASK FOR THIS PAIN *runs and crys* qwerty83
If these comments by Mrs Madson were said "off the record" in confidentiality then Mrs Goldman is an evil witch and Mrs Madson is a b!^@*.
If Mrs Madson was on the record with these comments giving an interview.Maybe a little tipsy? Oy Vey! Whew that wasnt too smart.
If Mrs. Goldman who has a very checkered background fabricated these comments she needs to be ran out of Philly like she has been NYC.
As per usual philadelphia athletes and local news personalities are the stars.Which is pretty pathetic in its own right. joe smith
Where she gets off dissing the Phillies fans is that they are immoral rude disgusting loudmouth pigs. They are the most low rent illiterate violent filthy fans in the league. intelliwoman- Who cares! She's a beeeeeoch!
intelliwoman - They're doing wonderful things with commas these days. You should check it out! Also, lemme guess: male Phillies fans don't notice you or give you the time of day, correct? Bitter much? Holla! 5NOT4
Secondly, Ryan, dud, you make millions. You're wife's face would make a train take a dirt road, bro'! AND she's a miserable beyatch..? Poor guy. 5NOT4
Oh, and if Madson was trying to find a woman with the same length neck as him, ding, ding, ding, SUCCESS - I do believe he's done it!! 5NOT4
So she wants the fans to be passionate enough to sell-out every game, spend enough money to keep the team a contendor, but drop it all when it's convienant for her? Oh ok... MFPhils
intelliwoman, they made you pay for 2 seats, didn't they... MFPhils

This story is just dumb. A blogger with a shifty past making one post about the Phillies. If it looks like ****, and smells like ****, then it is most probably ****.
