Antonio Bastardo suffers his first loss of the season.
Two walks not only led to the Phillies' demise against the Marlins Saturday, they also erased a chance for Antonio Bastardo (now 6-1) to tie or set a team record for most wins in a season without a loss. And, if you're superstistious about your stats (and who isn't?), it may have wrecked a little havoc with their chances of a parade.
Below are the 12 pitchers with four or more wins and no losses in one season for the Phils. Note that both Phillies World Championship teams (1980 and 2008, in case you've forgotten) have a pitcher listed.
Only two "pitchers" have had at least one win without a loss for the Phillies this season ... Juan Perez and Wilson Valdez.
By the way, the major league record for most wins and no losses in one season is Tom Zachary (12-0, 2.48) for the 1929 Yankees.
