Some Phillies among baseball's highest salaries

How many times have you watched a baseball game and seen a player dog it down to first? Or play a ball off his hip, a la Roger Dorn in Major League? Inevitably, you say to yourself, "These guys are getting paid millions of dollars to play a game! I'd do it for a lot less money, and play a lot harder!"

Ready to get really mad? While you sit in your cubicle slaving away, take a minute to see just how much these guys are getting paid to "play" baseball for a living. The Associated Press released a list of of 448 MLB players who, as of opening day, will earn more than $1 million this season.

According to the AP, "figures were obtained by The Associated Press from management and player sources and include salaries and pro-rated shares of signing bonuses and other guaranteed income. For some players, parts of salaries deferred without interest are discounted to reflect present-day values."
