Phillies retain Scott Franzke and Larry Andersen in radio booth
In the wake of long time Phillies TV broadcasters Chris Wheeler and Gary Matthews being let go, speculation has risen as to their replacements. Comcast has indicated that they will be seeking a single color commentator to replace both Wheeler and Matthews, eliminating the notion of the Phillies' popular radio personalities, Scott Franzke and former pitcher Larry Andersen, replacing them, per MLB.com's Todd Zolecki.
As part of the new TV deal, the new hire will come from Comcast, not the Phillies.
It seems Franzke and L.A.'s jobs are not in danger at the moment, either, which is good news for anyone who enjoys their announcers screaming advice to the team from the booth.
