Game 122: Facing the dominant Kershaw

The Phillies have scored 16 runs in their last seven games and now have to face one of the best pitchers in baseball.

Los Angeles Dodgers lefthander Clayton Kershaw, who leads the Majors with a 1.88 ERA, opponents batting average (.184) and WHIP (0.88) will face Phillies righthander Kyle Kendrick (10-9, 448 ERA) in tonight's matchup at Citizens Bank Park

Interim manager Ryne Sandberg has loaded up with righthanded batters against Kershaw. Only Domonic Brown will hit from the left side in today's starting lineup.

Friday's 4-0 loss to the Dodgers was the Phillies 11th shutout of the season and dropped the Phillies to a season-worst 15 games below .500. The Phillies had not been that many games under .500 since the final day of the 2000 season when they finished 65-97.
