THE PHILLIES might want to recall their 2015 calendars.

You would think they would only include players they expected to be on the roster next season. But lo and behold, there - big as life - is Jimmy Rollins on the June page.

Makes one wonder whether any of the other players featured in the calendar are safe. They include Ryan Howard (January), Cole Hamels (March), Chase Utley (April) and Cliff Lee (May).

And, should Marlon Byrd be concerned that he's nowhere to be found?

Smile little fella

Last week, Nebraska defensive tackle Jack Gangwish tweeted that he tried to take a selfie with a raccoon, but the varmit bit him on the leg.

So . . . Gangwish killed the critter with a wrench.

Predictably, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals are worked up over the incident.

PETA hs asked Cornhuskers athletic director Shawn Eichors to discipline Gangwich.

"Student athletes are set up to be role models," PETA president Ingrid Newkirk told the Lincoln Journal Star. "So it's critical for the university to send its players the message that bullying and abusing anyone is unacceptable."

Apparently, raccoons are people too.

Royal faux pas

Royal watchers are calling a foul on LeBron James.

When James posed for a photo with Prince William and wife Kate after a game against the Knicks in New York on Monday, he placed his arm around the future queen of England.

That's a no-no, according to British protocol.

"He may be known as 'King James' stateside but LeBron James raised more than a few eyebrows when he got up close with Kate," London's Daily Mirror wrote.

Someone send the Brits one of those Phillies calendars, so they can look at the date and see that Dark Ages ended long ago.
