Phillies sign 5 more to minor league deals
A pitcher, two catchers and two infielders bring to 13 the total of nonroster players who will report to Clearwater.
THE PHILLIES signed five players to minor league contracts yesterday, bringing to 13 the current total of nonroster players who will report to Clearwater, Fla., in February.
Yesterday's additions: righthander Paul Clemens, catchers Koyie Hill and Rene Garcia, and infielders Chris Nelson and Cord Phelps.
Earlier this month, the Phillies came to agreements on minor league contracts with outfielders Jeff Francoeur, Darin Mastroianni, Xavier Paul and Brian Bogusevic, catcher John Hester, and infielders Andres Blanco, Russ Canzler and Chase d'Arnaud.
