Touch 'Em All: Interleague play could see changes

The twice-a-year interleague matchups like Mets-Yankees and Cubs-White Sox could become one series a year in 2013, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reported on Monday.

That's a shame, because those are practically the only interleague series that make sense anymore. But the Houston Astros' move to the AL in 2013 will give each league 15 teams and make season-long interleague play necessary.

And that has created a scheduling nightmare.

Rubin cautioned that the schedule is still in the "discussion" stage.

But as Kevin Kaduk of Yahoo Sports pointed out, those "discussions" probably mean White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf and Mets owner Fred Wilpon calling their old buddy Bud Selig and complaining about three automatic sellouts per season disappearing off the schedule.
