CINCINNATI - So how did Charlie Manuel spend his two-day vacation in Ohio?

"Walking around," Manuel said. "Going back to my room. Walking around."

Sounds about right. Before Monday, the Phillies had played once in a span of four days. Hurricane Irene postponed a weekend of baseball in Philadelphia and forced the Phillies to abandon home for an early arrival in Cincinnati.

"It was a lot of nothing," Raul Ibanez said.

They did, however, throw a fantasy football draft party Sunday night. Brad Lidge is the commissioner of the 12-team league. Outfielder Ben Francisco picked first and selected Houston running back Arian Foster.

So, yeah, it was about time for some baseball.
