Minor Leagues: Victorino, Lidge sharp as Reading rolls

TRENTON - Playing as a designated hitter, Shane Victorino went 3 for 5 with a double and reliever Brad Lidge pitched a scoreless inning in a 13-2 Phillies rout of the Thunder in the Eastern League.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The IronPigs got back-to-back homers in a five-run first from Brandon Moss and Telford native Erik Kratz to stake themselves to an early lead in an 8-6 International League win over the Chiefs. With the victory - Lehigh Valley's fourth straight over the Chiefs - the IronPigs set a franchise record, going 19 games above .500 for the first time.

 WILMINGTON - A Blue Rocks rally in the sixth inning fizzled and the Keys hung on for a Carolina League win. Keys first baseman Mike Flacco, an Audubon High grad and brother of Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco, continued his outstanding introduction to the Carolina League, going 2 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Clearwater 4, Charlotte 1

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Brian Gump homered in the third and Threshers starter Julio Rodriguez gave up just one run on three hits over seven innings as Clearwater finally cracked the Stone Crabs. The Threshers had lost three straight to Charlotte in the Florida State League.
