Pitching matchup: LHP Cliff Lee (7-5, 3.12) at RHP Kyle Lohse (7-3, 2.88)

LEE vs. CARDINALS: Lee faced the Cardinals at Busch Stadium on May 16, allowing three runs with four strikeouts and six walks in 6 innings of a 3-1 loss. Since that game he is 5-1 with a 2.18 ERA, 43 strikeouts and 11 walks in 45 innings. Lee's only other start against St. Louis over the last three seasons was a complete-game shutout in June of 2009.

PHILLIES vs. LOHSE: Lohse faces the team he pitched for in the second half of 2007, when he went 3-0 with a 4.72 ERA in 13 games, 11 starts after a trade from the Reds. He has faced the Phillies five times since, struggling in the last four. Most recently, he allowed five runs in four innings of a 7-2 loss last May.

FYI: The Phillies entered last night having scored 43.1 percent of their runs with two outs, the third-highest percentage in the majors this season.
