ESPN's Buster Olney reported on Sunday night that Jack McKeon will be named the Marlins manager. At 80, McKeon would be the second-oldest manager ever, behind Connie Mack.

Rodriguez, the first Puerto Rican-born manager in major-league history, resigned unexpectedly Sunday after less than one year on the job. The Marlins fell to 1-17 in June with Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Rays. (They lost again on Sunday, 2-1, their 10th straight defeat).

Atlanta activated Nate McLouth after the outfielder missed 22 games with a strained abdominal muscle. . . . San Diego activated second baseman Orlando Hudson, who missed 22 games with a left groin strain. . . . Washington put outfielder Rick Ankiel on the disabled list with strained rib-cage muscles.
