Rodriguez out, McKeon in for Florida Bench coach Brandon Hyde managed the Florida Marlins against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, in the wake of the resignation of Edwin Rodriguez. ESPN's Buster Olney reported on Sunday night that Jack McKeon will be named the Marlins manager. At 80, McKeon would be the second-oldest manager ever, behind Connie Mack.

Rodriguez, the first Puerto Rican-born manager in major-league history, resigned unexpectedly Sunday after less than one year on the job. The Marlins fell to 1-17 in June with Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Rays. (They lost again on Sunday, 2-1, their 10th straight defeat).

Atlanta activated Nate McLouth after the outfielder missed 22 games with a strained abdominal muscle. . . . San Diego activated second baseman Orlando Hudson, who missed 22 games with a left groin strain. . . . Washington put outfielder Rick Ankiel on the disabled list with strained rib-cage muscles.
