Kendrick's Series ring is recovered in Wash.

Kyle Kendrick's 2008 World Series ring, missing after a burglary at his Washington State home in late March, has been recovered on a tip in a rural area north of Seattle, a sheriff's office reports.

The Snohomish County sheriff's office, located on the east side of Puget Sound, said that deputies found the ring and returned it to police in Kendrick's hometown, Mount Vernon, Wash.

Rebecca Hover, a sheriff's spokeswoman, said in an e-mail Wednesday night: "Our deputies developed information that the ring might be in Snohomish County. On Tuesday night, they contacted a man known to law enforcement. He led them to a swampy area in Bothell [in Snohomish County] where the ring was hidden."

"The man has not been arrested yet," Hover said. "Our investigation of possession of stolen property continues. I don't know the man's age; he moves around the county quite a bit so I don't have a city of residence for him, either."

The Skagit Valley Herald, a Washington newspaper, reported April 20 that five suspects had been arrested at that time in connection with the Kendrick burglary, which occurred between March 30 and April 1.

"Several baseball gloves that were significant at points in [Kendrick's] career and baseballs signed by 2008 World Series team players are also still missing," the newspaper had said.

"Everett [Wash.] police arrested the first suspect, a 33-year-old Arlington man, after he was stopped and police found a 2009 National League championship ring in his car," the paper said.

"The next day," the paper said, "police searched a home in the 17000 block of Highway 9 in Mount Vernon, where they found clothing of Kendrick's, appliances, and several baseballs - including his first home run ball."

After the search, four other people were arrested.
