Minor Leagues: Durham edges IronPigs, 2-1, in 11

ALLENTOWN - J.J. Furmaniak's two-out double in the 11th drove home the winning run as the Durham Bulls beat the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, 2-1, in the International League on Thursday.

John Mayberry Jr. had sent the game into extra innings with a solo shot in the bottom of the ninth for Lehigh Valley.

 

Akron 6, Reading 5

AKRON, Ohio - Miguel Perez's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth drove in the winning run as the Aeros beat the Phillies in the Eastern League.

Rich Thompson tripled and drove in two for the Phils.

Trenton 3, New Hampshire 1

TRENTON - Lance Pendleton held the Fisher Cats to one run in six innings while striking out six as the Thunder took the Eastern League game.

Lakewood 7, West Virginia 6

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Keoni De Renne doubled home two runs in the bottom of the ninth to give the BlueClaws the victory in the South Atlantic League.

Jonathan Singleton drove in two runs to key a five-run sixth for the 'Claws.
