DENVER - Catcher Yorvit Torrealba hit fifth for the first time this season as Rockies manager Jim Tracy wanted to take advantage of his ability in a run-producing situation against a lefthanded pitcher.

Torrealba hit sixth exclusively dating to Sept. 16 and after driving in 14 runs through August, had 17 RBI in his final 26 games in the regular season.

Rightfielder Brad Hawpe, a first-time All-Star this season, was not in the lineup for the second straight game. Third baseman Garrett Atkins hit fifth in the first two NLDS games and was moved down to sixth. Ryan Spilborghs hit seventh and played rightfield in place of the lefthanded hitting Hawpe, as the Rockies faced a lefthanded Phillies starter for the third straight game.

Hawpe hit .240 in the second half, and from the beginning of September went 15-for-72 (.208) with four homers, 10 RBI and 30 strikeouts. Tracy said, "When I sit down to write a lineup, it's with the best interests of every guy in that clubhouse in mind and not one specific individual. I can't do that."
